For Better Future has multiple years of project management experience gained from the projects implemented in the Akhalgori district before 2008, as well as projects implemented in the Tserovani IDP settlement. Each project we do focuses on fulfilling our mission of empowering IDP women and youth by providing professional development training and peacebuilding skills in order to promote a sustainable community with effective and active civic participation.

Project aims to educate Georgian youth, from both sides of the ABL(Administrative Boundary Line), about the democratic political process; specifically, the systems and infrastructure that allow a democratic government to exist and the integral role of citizen participation in ensuring the success of the government.
The project is co-financed by the Governments of the Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe. |

The project ”Georgian Civil Society Sustainability Initiative” (CSSIGE) was developed and is implemented by the consortium lead by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in cooperation with four Georgian Civil Society Organizations: Civil Society Institute (CSI), Center for Training and Consultancy (CTC), Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG) and Education Development and Employment Center (EDEC). The project is funded by the European Union and co-funded by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. The overall objective of the initiative is to improve the operational environment for civil society in Georgia, through empowering CSOs, increasing their accountability towards constituencies and amplifying their linkages to other actors. |

PROMOTING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM REFORM / 2020

For Better Future, along with the EU and N.(N).L.E. "Georgian Center for Psychological and Medical Rehabilitation of Torture Victims – GCRT“ is implementing this project: Promoting the Implementation of Juvenile Justice System Reform.
The project includes cognitive and practical activities that promote the implementation of juvenile justice system reform. The project will have a positive impact in the region regarding initiating important changes of crime prevention. |
IDP YOUTH COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT CLUBS / 2015 - 2016
Through the Democracy Commission Small Grant Program, For Better Future continued work with youth leaders and established IDP Youth Community Engagement Clubs in 3 IDP settlements in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region and gave identified potential leaders a chance to become pillars of their community. For Better Future equipped spaces in each settlement with all the necessary equipment and internet, trained youth in different actual topics and gave them knowledge to take part in their community development.
BETTER LIVELIHOODS TODAY FOR A STRONGER GENERATION TOMORROW / 2015 - 2016
In collaboration with CHCA (Charity Humanitarian Center Apkhazeti), For Better Future implemented the project: “Better Livelihoods Today for a Stronger Generation Tomorrow”. The main goal of the project was to improve the livelihood conditions for the Ossetian and Georgian population living in Akhalgori Region. 6 big and 14 small businesses were supported (funded) through the project.

In 2014, For Better Future received funding through the Peace Corps Small Assistance Program to develop and host a professional development training program for youth.
Participants attended a series of five training sessions to build their professional skills, including CV writing and interview practice. They were then placed with local businesses, organizations, and governmental agencies for 3 month internships. The combination of skills building and practical experience, proved very beneficial to the youth.
Several participants have continued working with their internship host. The training program will be offered for a second time in 2015.

FORM #9 / 2014
Due to For Better Future's networking and advocacy work on behalf of IDPs from the Akhalgori region, the organization was approached by the Georgian government to collect official statements from all IDPs who are eligible to cross the ABL but who do not have the proper paperwork (Form #9).
Over the course of 2 months, IDPs from throughout the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region visited For Better Future‟s office to record their statements. The organization‟s volunteers assisted in the recording process for 850 individual statements of the people who have the “right of return” for Akhalgori, but cannot get Form #9.

THE PROBLEMS OF AKHALGORI DISTRICT: INTERNALLY DISPLACED PEOPLE AND THEIR FUTURE / 2013

Conference speakers included representatives from Akhalgori's government in exile, Tbilisi State University, and the EUMM. Akhalgori‟s administrative border problems, the current political situation, and security issues were discussed during the event. They also talked about IDPs‟ social and economical conditions, as well as the problems for residents still living in Akhalgori.
Following the presentations, attendees from the Akhalgori IDP community formed working groups to draft a letter of appeal to the Georgian government and the international community. This letter of appeal has been shared with international organizations and local nongovernmental organizations.

ERASMUS MUNDUS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM / 2013
For Better Future supports youth education opportunities by working with the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship program in the Tserovani IDP settlement.
Informational sessions are held every year, along with workshops CV and Motivational Letter writing. Based on the recommendation from our organization, twelve IDP youth have been accepted to international degree programs in Poland and Romania since 2013.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING PROGRAM FOR REFUGEES / 2012
In 2012, For Better Future implemented the “Professional Development Training Program for Refugees” specifically targeting women.
The project supported women's role in community by increasing their professional development and independence. The IDP women who participated in the project attended courses in computer skills, accounting and hairdressing.
At the end of the course, participants were given certificates. A total of 120 IDP women took part in the project.

GEORGIAN-OSSETIAN CIVIL FORUM / 2010 - 2012
Since 2009, our organization has been involved in the community-level Georgian-Ossetian negotiation process through the Georgian-Ossetian Civil Forum meetings. These meetings are held periodically in a neutral, third party country and discuss peacebuilding through conflict prevention and resolution.

In 2010, For Better Future implemented a project funded by TASO for women leaders in the Tserovani IDP settlement.
The goal of the “Club of Women Leaders” was to encourage internally displaced women to take part in civil affairs. Ten women participated in this project by attending training, seminars and working meetings. The participants were trained in fundraising, as well as civil education.
Within the project a meeting was held with Mrs. Iulia Kharashvili, the head of IDP women association “Consent.”

LEIDEN APPEAL LETTER / 2010
In July 2010, at the meeting taken place in Leiden, Netherlands, the participants developed a joint letter of appeal to the participants of Geneva discussion and appealed them to solving humanitarian problems people faced there.
