Description
- project aims to educate Georgian youth, from both sides of the ABL(Administrative Boundary Line), about the democratic political process; specifically, the systems and infrastructure that allow a democratic government to exist and the integral role of citizen participation in ensuring the success of the government.
- With the project, we would like to Demystify the political process and teach the youth about effective grassroots organization techniques that will empower them to take a more prominent role in their local communities.
- Understanding of democratic principles between the youth of Tserovani, Prezeti, Khurvaleti and Shavshvebi IDP settlements, and the youth from ABL vilage Odzisi;
- Teach youth skills and information like public speaking, project design and management, political and democratic ideology, and human rights, confidence building;
- Training of mentors.
- Joint training for Mentors and active youth of the region, working on project ideas.
- Implementation of community projects in 5 locations.
- Impact measuring training for FBF and project beneficiaries together with the closing conference.
Training in Mentorship
Within the frame of the project: "Visegrad Mentorship Academy for War Affected Youth in Georgia", organization For Better Future conducted the work meeting with the selected mentors from five locations: Tserovani, Prezeti, Shavshvebi and Khurvaleti IDP Settlement and ABL village Odzisi.
Mentors, together with the active youth will implement the community project. The budget of each project in each location is 1500 EUR.
Mentioned project aims to educate Georgian youth, from both sides of the ABL(Administrative Boundary Line), about the democratic political process; specifically, the systems and infrastructure that allow a democratic government to exist and the integral role of citizen participation in ensuring the success of the government.
Methodology, used during the meeting was provided by the partner organization Pro Progressione.
The project is co-financed by the Governments of the Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
The project is co financed by the Ministry of Foreign affairs of Republic of Korea.

Within the frame of the project: "Visegrad Mentorship Academy for War Affected Youth in Georgia", organization For Better Future conducted the work meeting with the youth from five locations:
Tserovani, Prezeti, Shavshvebi and Khurvaleti IDP Settlement and ABL village Odzisi. Participants of the meeting developed the action plan in order to implement the provided activities based on their project proposals. The budget of each project in each location is 1500 EUR. Mentioned project aims to educate Georgian youth, from both sides of the ABL(Administrative Boundary Line), about the democratic political process; specifically, the systems and infrastructure that allow a democratic government to exist and the integral role of citizen participation in ensuring the success of the government. Information needed for the training, was provided by the partner organization from Slovakia ADRA Slovensko - and was adapted by the organization For Better Future. Community Projects
KHURVALETI IDP SETTLEMENT
Within the frame of the project: "Visegrad Mentorship Academy for War Affected Youth in Georgia", project participants from Khurvaleti IDP settlement implemented the project: "Community Center in Khurvaleti IDP Settlement" within the time frame of June 30 - August 15, and budget of 5000 GEL. Different materials, books, technique, furniture was purchased in frame of the project in order to conduct movie screenings, discussions, cultural-educational activities to support the non-formal development of local youngsters. Activities are conducted permanently since the opening of the project. |
Shavshvebi IDP Settlement
Within the frame of the project: "Visegrad Mentorship Academy for War Affected Youth in Georgia", project participants from Shavshvebi IDP settlement implemented the project: "Youth Center in Shavshvebi IDP Settlement" within the time frame of June 30 - August 15, and budget of 5000 GEL. Six young people took part in the project, but during the community project implementation, local initiative group was formed with more than 10 participants. Different materials, technique, furniture was purchased in frame of the project in order to conduct movie screenings, discussions, cultural-educational activities to support the non-formal development of local youngsters. Activities are conducted weekly and is very popular among the inhabitants of the settlement, especially youth. |
Prezeti IDP Settlement
Within the frame of the project: "Visegrad Mentorship Academy for War Affected Youth in Georgia", project participants from Prezeti IDP settlement implemented the project: "Outdoor Fitness Equipment in Prezeti IDP Settlement", within the time frame of June 30 - August 15, and budget of 5000 GEL. Different outdoor fitness equipment and building materials were purchased in frame of the project. Healthy lifestyle promotion was one of the main indicator for project initiative group from Prezeti, while working on the project idea. |
Tserovanii IDP Settlement
Within the frame of the project: "Visegrad Mentorship Academy for War Affected Youth in Georgia", project participants from Tserovani IDP settlement implemented the project: "Promoting Healthy Lifestyle in Tserovani IDP Settlement", within the time frame of June 30 - August 18, and budget of 5000 GEL. Recreation zone and volleyball Playground materials were purchased in frame of the project. Healthy lifestyle promotion was one of the main indicator for project initiative group from Tserovani, while working on the project idea. During the community project implementation, project participants contacted different local and national institutions, business companies in order to attract in-kind contribution and make others involved in local change.

Village Odzisi
Within the frame of the project: "Visegrad Mentorship Academy for War Affected Youth in Georgia", project participants from ABL Village Odzisi implemented the project: "Recreation Zone in Village Odzisi", within the time frame of June 30 - August 25, and budget of 5000 GEL. Recreation zone materials were purchased in frame of the project. During the community project implementation, project participants contacted different local and national institutions, business companies in order to attract in-kind contribution and make others involved in local change. Village Odzisi is an Administrative Boundary Line Village. |
Impact Measuring Training
Within the frame of the project: "Visegrad Mentorship Academy for War Affected Youth in Georgia", organization For Better Future conducted the Impact Measuring Training for the project participants.
Participants of the training evaluated the small scale project implementation and outlined the future collaboration possibilities.
